Jacksonville, Florida – Day 2 – Crescent Beach

April 20, 2019

We were excited to get to the ocean this morning! Turns out, it was cold and windy. But, that didn’t stop us from going to the beach that Dallas really liked. When we got there, I agreed. It was secluded and beautiful!

This is what Florida is known for! Incredible beaches and it is the thing I dream of every day in the winter. Not even kidding. Just look at this pristine beach. If the weather had cooperated, we would have stayed out here ALL DAY! As you can tell, it didn’t stop the kids from getting into the water.

It was a hike up and down those stairs with a carseat and a chunky baby boy inside it, and by the time I got there, and took Matthew out for his first glimpse at the ocean, it was so windy, he had his eyes shut the whole time and I was trying to keep his flimsy cotton blanket from flying off into the wind. We didn’t get a chance to dunk him in the water.

So, I packed him right back into the carseat and lugged it back to the car to then feed him and settle him into a nice sleep, only to have everyone else come back dragging all the gear and shivering but with huge grins on their faces from having just spent some time on the beach. This fabulous beach!
