Surviving

February 23, 2011

This is the story of my life for the last 10 days – it started out with an itchy throat and grandly escalated to a full-blown cold and cough, sinus infection, nausea, upset stomach and regurgitation. It seems to be a pattern with me each year, around this time to become ill.

In fact, last year in February, I was getting married and 10 days before the wedding, I had a severe attack of bronchitis and laryngitis, to the point where I had lost my voice two days before the wedding. Despite all the teasing that I might not be able to say yes when I got married, I managed to eke out a few audible words on the big day and spent the honeymoon in Vegas recovering from the sickness.

Today I feel so much better physically, but sad that it has set me back on all the projects I had going on when I became sick. Playing catch up is not fun, especially for people like me, who like to make progress and knock those tasks off my list.

How many of you have been battling colds and sickness this winter? And what do you do to catch up on things?
