A typical evening would end up with Aaron playing with the kids while I got dinner ready, cleaned, cooked, did the dishes, etc. I do this often, so often, in fact, that even in imaginary games, I get assigned the role of servant by the kids, while Daddy is the King. Yep.
This year, to change things up, I try to join the kids as often as I can. Santa brought them these fun, PJ Masks figurines to play with, and we opened them today. The kids could not contain their excitement. We laughed hard, made up stories as we fought crime together, chased each other on the carpet, and had a marvelous time together.
When Grace told me, in the midst of tears pouring down her cheeks from laughing so hard, that I was so funny and she was having the best time, it made it all worth it! I am learning to cherish these moments with my kids more often. These are the things they will remember, as will I. Family time is the best time in the world!
