Attempting Boeuf Bourguignon a la Julia Child

The reason I titled this as "attempting"is because this was my first time tackling a Julia Child recipe. I know. Sacrilegious, right? I belong to a dinner group along with four other couples from my church. We meet once every other month, and sample a particular cuisine. The theme is different each time, and we all learn how to make something new. 

This month was my turn, and I chose to do a French-themed night. This made for an exciting time because the recipes I had chosen involved cooking with wine. I am a Mormon and do not drink any alcohol. The classic Julia Child recipe I picked called for one BOTTLE of wine. Yep.
Here is the dish in its various stages. The only thing you should know is that it was well worth the time it takes to make this incredibly flavorful dish! 





The group had several rounds of this delicious meal. Next time, I will do a step-by-step photo journal-type entry. For now, I just wanted to document the fact that I actually successfully attempted the great Julia Child's recipe!
